Administrative Manager Matt Ellison brings a wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for delivering top-notch service to our customers. We sat down with him to learn more about his background and what being a part of the Big Chief family means to him.
A Glimpse Into Matt’s Life
Born and raised in the heart of Jacksonville, Matt graduated from Florida State College at Jacksonville and the University of North Florida. Before joining the Big Chief team, he spent over 12 years working in physical therapy.
His wife and two daughters, aged 12 and 7, are his world. “My family is my hobby,” said Matt. “My girls are something else, and I love watching them play volleyball and dance.”
Joining the Big Chief Family
When he decided it was time for a career change in 2018, Matt joined the Big Chief team at our Blanding location—starting as an advisor before quickly climbing the ranks to assistant manager. Seeking new challenges, he transitioned to our Normandy location, where he was promoted to administrative manager.
Commitment to Quality
In his new role, Matt’s responsibilities include overseeing the company’s logistics, ensuring accurate finances, and supporting service advisors and tire techs with the products they need. “I get to be at all the stores, wherever they need me to be,” said Matt. “Whether I’m running tires from store to store or handling daily deposits, I do whatever I can to help support the management team.”

Matt’s role goes beyond just administrative duties; it’s about upholding the high standards that Big Chief Tire is known for. “I’ve got a hand in everything our company is doing,” he said. “It’s huge seeing our service advisors have everything they need.” His biggest goal is to continue growing with Big Chief, supporting its expansion and contributing to the success of each store.
