General Manager Andro Nunez has served the Jacksonville community for 25 years. We sat down with Andro to learn more about his background, his journey with Big Chief Tire, and what he loves most about his role.
Inspirational Beginnings
Andro was born in Cuba and moved to the United States in 1997. He joined the team at Big Chief Tire nearly a year later, starting as a teenager with limited language skills and industry knowledge.
However, his hard work and dedication quickly opened doors for his career growth. Over the years, Andro has grown personally and professionally, working his way up the ladder from a tire technician to his current role as general manager.
“The journey has been great, “ Andro shared. “It’s been hard at times, but definitely great. I’ve learned so much; I’ve changed so much. I started as a kid and became a man for sure.”
Leading With Passion
As General Manager, Andro’s day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing multiple locations, working with store managers and assistant managers, ensuring smooth operations, and focusing on safety and efficiency.
He is passionate about helping people and finds fulfillment in mentoring and coaching his team members to be better at what they do. “I just love the people I have around me,” he said. “I work with a great group of men and women who I respect and love – it’s one of the things I enjoy the most.”

Andro’s favorite part of his job is simple – he loves to help people. He believes Big Chief Tire’s core values of caring for employees and customers are what sets the company apart. “We work really hard to serve the Jacksonville area, and we really care about everyone here,” he said.

Nearing the end of his third decade with Big Chief Tire, Andro stays because he believes in what he does here. “I feel at home here,” he said. “This company showed me right away that I could make a career here, and that’s what I did.”
Andro’s passion for helping others and dedication to his teammates make him an invaluable part of Big Chief Tire. He is grateful for the compassionate leadership that he has worked under for his entire career.
“The Parman family are great people to work for,” said Andro. “Fritz was a great man – he took care of everything in the office. He loved to talk and listen to everyone – he would stop his job at any given moment to talk to you. He was someone I worked with for over 20 years; he was a great friend to me.”
Beyond The Workplace
Outside of work, Andro focuses on raising his 16-year-old daughter and spending time with his wife. He loves fishing, hunting, and his family. His story at Big Chief Tire is one of perseverance, growth, and unwavering commitment.
